Joanne Placko I am an amateur photographer who loves taking photographs of the people, places and things that inspire me, such as family events and the places that I travel to. My love of photography began when I was 9 years old when my father purchased a Ricoh 35mm film camera and let me take a few pictures. I looked through the viewfinder and was amazed at how different the world looked through that viewfinder. I fell in love with photography on the spot, and have been taking photographs ever since. I have an appreciation of the fine arts, and am taking photography courses to help me embrace the age of digital photography. I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may be a stunning and inspirational image to one person may not be stunning and inspirational to someone else. For me, the beauty of photography comes from the creativity and joy in capturing images themselves, and in sharing that joy with others.
